• Save American Symphony Orchestras
Symphony orchestras around the US are deteriorating due to smaller ticket sales, dwindling audiences, and less support from Foundations and the Government. Plus there have been union and management issues tearing apart orchestras that have been around for decades. We are calling on stronger Foundation and Corporate support, funds from individuals to spark new ideas that will attract younger and larger audiences.

  • D.O. J. Lower our gas prices at the pump
Stopping Wall St. speculative traders like Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, etc. I understand by using a law already on the books to limit excessive speculative trading can lower gas prices approximately $.80 to $1. 00 + per gal. Even the Republicans are complaining about gas prices. Glive them what they want, lower gas prilces. It helps the ecomomy and President Obama, plus the 99%.

  • Restoring our Rights
Restoring the Bill of Rights For more than two hundred years the people of the United States have been struggling and sometimes dying to defend their freedoms from threats both foreign and domestic. The Constitution requires that all Presidents and Representatives swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Yet, since the attack of 9/11/01, some lawmakers, under cover of fear, have advanced the Patriot Act, the National Defense Authorization Act and other legislation that directly contradicts and infringes upon the Bill of Rights. In the name of security, most of our rights under the original Ten Amendments have been eroded, reduced or effectively lost.

  • Opening New Doors for Sherman Oaks
We’re M. David Paul & Associates and have been in the San Fernando Valley for over 35 years. Our goal is to invest in the future of Sherman Oaks and for the past 5 years, we have been working to bring il Villaggio Toscano (IVT), a mixed-use residential and shopping center with neighborhood-serving retail, a specialty grocery store, and a 13,000 sq. ft. plaza with seating areas accessible to the public, and art highlighting the history of Sherman Oaks. Proposed for the corner of Camarillo and Sepulveda, the project brings a much needed aspect to Sherman Oaks: a walkable community that is close to major job centers, public transit, restaurants, entertainment and retail. The economic output from construction, jobs, taxes and spending by residents could boost local businesses and the Sherman Oaks economy.

  • 17 Year Old Sexual Assault Victim Imprisoned in Sacramento, CA
A Sacramento DA has ordered that a 17 year old girl who reported a sexual assault be held in juvenile detention to ensure she testifies in court against her assailant. She is a ward of the state and her bail was set at $50,000. Imprisoning this young woman will not stop rapists but will, instead, deter other victims from coming forward.

  • Justice for Mario
Justice is rather the activity of truth, than a virtue in itself. Truth tells us what is due to others, and justice renders that due. Injustice is acting a lie. Horace Walpole

  • Stop discrimination for jobs or internship sites
Many internship sites and jobs, in particular ones related to the medical or mental health field specifically hire candidates based on their sex/ gender. Many applicants are told that they were not hired due to the fact that the site wanted more men or more women. Too many qualified applicants are rejected based on the fact that they are a man or a woman and are openly told that they're greatly qualified but were only not hire due to the fact that they are the sex that they are. The same is true for different cultures. It's about time that the hiring process was based on merit rather than someone's sex, religion, sexual orientation, or country of origin.

  • Undocumented Workers Should Have Rights Too!
Undocumented workers are human beings who deserve to have rights and be a part of this country. There are many myths on how undocumented workers harm the country's economy when actually they can benefit it. There needs to be a gateway for undocumented workers to gain citizenship in this country. Politicians avoid this topic but it needs to be dealt with. We need to defend these people and give them a chance to live life in a country that they respect and love without them having to fear being deported.

  • Bring back Glass-Steagall
The Glass-Stegall act was created during the Depression of the 1930's as a way of safeguarding people's bank accounts. It forbade the banks from gambling with depositors' money in risky enterprises. The repeal of Glass-Steagall back in 1999 paved the way for the financial crash of 2008. Repeal Gramm-Leach-Bliley (which took away the Glass-Steagall protection) and bring back sensible regulation!

  • Voter ID requirement - the new Poll Tax
If the State or the US government should begin to require voter ID at the polls, then the State needs to provide that photo ID at the government's expense. TSA (Transportation Safety) at all the airports has cost the government (the taxpayers) over $50 Billion. They have effectively uncovered and confiscated numerous nail clippers, bottles of perfume and shaving lotion, but to date no terrorist. Think what that money could have done for our educational system. At least we would have safe and better equipped schools for our children. Photo Identification unless provided at State expense is a new "Poll Tax" which has been determined to be unconstitutional. Please sign to stop this right wing paranoid foolishness about requiring a photo ID to be allowed to exercise the right to vote.

  • Plea for Continuation of FBI Corruption Investigation
While Ted Stevens’ best friend Bill Allen and other oil executives were bribing Alaska’s legislators, including Ted's son Ben Stevens, corruption in Alaska grew to that critical mass necessary to enable corruption to become self sustaining with or without oil backed bribery schemes. End result, communities across Alaska are dominated by persons who’ve secured an unfair advantage over local commerce by pouring money into the campaigns of elected officials who sustain their unfair advantage.
