Alll across America, local governments are struggling to pay for legislative mandates that have been imposed by the federal and state legislatures without providing for the funds to pay for these increased obligations. Towns and municipalities must comply, but property taxes were never intended to be a vehicle for funding the ever-increasing and costly municipal and educational mandates that are with us now. In Massachusetts, Proposition 2 1/2 means that mandates will eventually swallow up entire budgets unless the town votes for an operational override. Towns are not able to manage their own budgets and they have lost their fiscal autonomy and authority.

Our environment continues to be trashed daily by people who don't know or don't care about the damage their littering and improper disposal of waste from their consumption is causing. The criminal justice system everywhere including Maryland is bent on continual judgement and punishment of previous behaviors including barriers to employment, housing, and education. This continaul system of unfairness leads to more criminal activity especially for sex offenders, murders, assualts of all kinds, and handgun issues. This has a detrimental affect on people primary of color, underserved, and uneducated. This has to be addressed.

Pennsylvania State Governor Tom Corbett is cutting 20% to 30% of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. This includes funding for state schools, driving the price of tuition exponentially higher. As college students, we can barely afford college as it is, even at a state school. Loans are not ideal but we have no other recourse. We can't let this stand. College students need to be able to pay for college. Sign this petition and help us keep ourselves in school.

He is not concerned with the company or its employees. He believes, less service, lowing our ontime status on mail. Will help the Post Office to build the business. He sides with Congressman Issa, who is the richest man on the hill. He believes decreasing service and not allowing the employees to have protection from nanagement is the way to go. The P/m wants to close many offices and plants. This will cause empolyees to move in some cases out of the state. There at least 6 jobs for every postal job in the civilian market. The city of Lexington could loose revenue of over 30 million dollars a year due to the closing of the plant according to some studies. The city of Cincy city leaders have saved their plant from closing. Why did Lexington fight? Huh mayor?
