The length of time a supreme court justice can serve. It should not be a lifetime appointment. These people are not always as neutral about all subjects as they try to appear to be. A 12 year limit should be set. Lifetime apointments can become a very abusive when these people know they cannot loose their jobs due to inapproiate decisions bases on politics and personal bias

The 14th St. corridor is again the victim of another luxury high rise development at 1905-1917 14th St., NW. This proposed 144 unit building is asking to exceed height and other development requirements. Exemptions to the off street parking requirements mean 34 spots instead of the required 81. Unsustainable retail rents will push out local merchants and our Post Office!

If we removed the electoral college process, every person's vote would be as important as any other person's. Currently only certain states matter in the presidential elections. Those of us in "gimme" states never see the candidates and feel our vote is not important.

Eric Brody was rear ended by a speeding Broward County Deputy in 1988 and left brain damaged and wheelchair bound. He was awarded a settlement but Florida legislative approval is needed for any awards over $200 000 from any governmental agency even though they have arranged a settlement that will be fully covered by insurance. Eric and his family sat in the Florida House gallery until 2am on the final night of the last legislative session after being told they would address this bill, but 8 months later they are still waiting for it to be signed. House Speaker Cannon keeps putting off signing the bill that will help this family pay for his medical bills and it seems he is going to hold the bill hostage and use it for leverage with the Senate on other issues. Cannon has stated "claims bills were tertiary on his priority list and would have to wait until bigger issues like the budget and auto insurance reform were settled." Even though he was awarded a lot more money in court, his family has settled for the $10 million that will be paid by the insurers so this is not a bill that is going to cost the tax payer anything. I have seen photos of Eric and he is in a bad way and is going to need care for the rest of his life. He was injured by a Government employee, and now they need to step up to the plate and sign the bill NOW!

We could payday loans, car title loans and outrageous credit card fees by limiting interest to 10%. It's interesting that when debtor countries in Europe had their loans at 7% interest the loans refinanced because at 7% interest it was considered unrealistic that the loans would ever be repaid. So why are we paying 20% or more on credit card balances?

Most people who face discrimination, lose their jobs trying to stand up for their rights

We need to fix Washington so we can fix our country. The problem is that we have too many career politicians who care more about keeping their jobs than solving problems.

The problems in the Middle East have gone on long enough. the rest of the world is united on Palestinian statehood and it's time for America to get on board. We are against democracy? We are against freedom? We are against fair representation?

Wrongful convictions are at epidemic proportions! DNA evidence has released many innocent citizens. Prosecutor and police misconduct to close a case, and ensure a "high conviction" rate keeps this epidemic alive and well. In Florida, Harold W. Scism became victim to a wrongful conviction in 2009. He was given a life sentence for a crime that never occurred. There was no evidence nor DNA evidence. The prosecutor, known for her high conviction rate, was later given the judgeship. Enough is enough. STOP wrongful convictions NOW!!!

This is an archaic method, hugely expensive and entirely unfair. Designed hundreds of years ago for a tiny, rural and widely dispersed population, it negates many of the personal popular votes.
