The TAMUK Presidential Search Committee will notify Chancellor John Sharp of 3-4 finalists on Thursday, September 13. There is no plan to bring the unranked finalists to campus to have them meet in Open Forums with faculty, students, and staff as happens at other state universities.

Pinellas County small lakes are disappearing as muck collects on the bottom. One lake depth has decreased from 6 1/2 feet to 24 inches. The muck is caused by algae and weeds which can be removed by the ECO HARVESTER. What happens to our small lakes will be decided by current County Commissioners, so maintain vigilance in this matter.

Spartanburg Water (SWS) recently killed over 200,000 fish by spraying a known fish killing algaecide into our drinking water and then tried to cover it up before being exposed by South Carolina's Department of Natural Resources. SWS has deflected responsibility for their mismanagement of our drinking water and has publicly blamed lake residents for contaminating our water. A change in leadership is needed to ensure our drinking water is properly managed.

Fox and coyote penning is animal abuse and cruelty and should not be legal in any state. It is inhumane and immoral. It's a blood sport for sick and twisted people that should not continue. People who are okay with this sport support animal cruelty even if it's not their pet being tortured.

Ridglan Farms is one of three top breeders in the United States which provide beagles for research facilities and they conduct their own research on-site as well. DxE investigators entered several Ridglan barns at night to document the housing for the hundreds of dogs living there and found animals in psychological torment, turning around and around endlessly in tiny wire cages. Ridglan's dogs are exposed to brutal torture, including being force-fed laundry detergent until they vomit blood and die. But now, we have the chance to save the thousands of dogs at Ridglan Farms by shutting down the facility and banning dog experimentation. Activists in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin got a dog experimentation ban onto the ballot for November, but we want to take this ban even farther. The public doesn't suppor animal cruelty, and that's why we're asking Dane County Executive Joe Parisi to listen to the public's concerns and to take the dog experimentation ban to the county-wide level. Kris Kobach is the Secretary of State of Kansas and this year’s Republican candidate to be Governor. He’s also one of the worst anti-immigrant politicians in the whole country: he led the Trump Administration’s efforts to crack down on the myth of immigrant voters, has worked with hate groups, and is responsible for laws that have tried to kick immigrants out of the United States. Kobach has also taken money from Ian Smith, a white nationalist and neo-Nazi sympathizer who was recently fired from his job at the Department of Homeland Security for his extremist beliefs. Smith has spent thousands of dollars in funding to Kobach’s campaign. For Kobach to accept this money is improper, and it’s offensive considering that he may be the next governor of Kansas. An elected official needs to serve everyone in the community — not divide neighbors and side with a politics of hate. Please tell Kris Kobach that he needs to return contributions from white nationalists like Ian Smith immediately.

I believe that everyone should be allowed the right to decent healthcare. As our forefathers emphasized, we all have the right to "Life, liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" and I believe that being healthy and having access to essential healthcare is ESSENTIAL to these tenants of our nation.

The housing crisis in California has been brewing for a long time. The rents are too damn high. We will all be homeless soon if this continues. tThe elderly and disabled are the most affected by tis heartless cruelty. We need affordable, stable housing for all now! Housing is a human right.

My brother was arrested in Albany Georgia and we as a family feel as if he is being treated unfairly by the Georgia Department of Correction and Albany Police Department. We have all done things and made mistakes in which we can not take back but yet we do regret those choices that we have made, some of us has even been punished for those crimes such as my brother. Whether they was properly or wrongfully punished they was punished so for a judge or state to make a decision of someone freedom based upon something he or she has done in their past but has served time for already is wrong. What type of message is that sending the individual that just because you made a mistake once or maybe twice in your life that you deserve to be treated unfairly or like a dog because now you don't matter to society better yet the people who stood before you and fought for your freedom didn't fight for the freedom of a person with your mantality! How do we espect them to ever trust the justice system if the justice system screwing them over. To give my brother 15 years to life in prison is just a heinous system it's not like he murdered someone, no im not saying no punishment should be done but I do feel as if he has already given a lot of his time to the system missing out of his children lives and missing the death of both our grandparent don't you guys feel as if thats enough punishment itself. Imagine you making mistakes as a young adult because you had no guidence, no one to really teach you right from wrong so you turned to looking for that love and lesson of life from the streets so you get caught up in the moment but thankfully instead of being in a grave you was blessed to sit and learn your lesson in a facility. You learned to value life and never take it for granted more importantly you paid your due to society so why can't you be treated equally don't we all bleed the same blood? All my family is asking for is that my brother case be looked over and reviewed so a decison can be made in which he doesn't spend the rest of his life in prison.

The shameful smear attacks on Cynthia Nixon and her family are beyond the pale — and The New York Times is complicit in those baseless attacks so long as it maintains its support for Governor Cuomo’s re-election effort. The history of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and bigotry in our state’s politics is all too real for The New York Times to maintain its endorsement of Andrew Cuomo, who it acknowledged is almost certainly behind these shameful attacks. If The New York Times maintains it endorsement, it will signal to Cuomo there’s no serious price to be paid for engaging in this kind of hateful smear or trafficking in lies. They must withdraw and rescind their endorsement immediately, or explain why someone engaging in “the lowest form of politics,” as they themselves have termed it, is worthy of leading our state in the era of Trump.

As parents, we find it unacceptable that it takes The Spring Ford Area School District close to an hour to bus our children to the local catholic high school, PJPII, which is for most residents, less than 2 miles away. Many parents are forced to drive their children to school because of this inconvenience. We are taxpayers just like the parents of public school students. We should all be entitled to the same direct bussing schedule as the public school families.
