The indecency of joking about and demeaning a war hero and public servant cannot be allowed to stand without immediate objection and appropriate consequences. People employed in government positions represent the country and its citizens. Nationwide, the Trump Administration is attacking immigrants and separating families in a series of policies that are wasteful and wrong. California has stood up to these policies through laws like the California Values Act. Not surprisingly, the Trump Administration opposes these efforts and is suing California. The Monterey County Board of Supervisors needs to show its support for our state’s pro-immigrant laws by signing on to a "friend-of-the-court" brief. The laws the Administration is challenging received strong support in the California legislature and broad endorsement by labor, faith and civil and immigrant rights organizations throughout the state. Immigrants are a vital part of our state's heart and soul, and our local governments should not be involved in painful deportations that separate families and further undermine confidence in law enforcement. Tell the Monterey County Board of Supervisors to sign onto an amicus brief for the California Values Act today!

Chikesia Clemons had the police called on her in Alabama. When they showed up they threatened to break her arm, exposed her breasts, and grabbed her by the throat. A police officer grabbed Anthony Wall by the throat in North Carolina. Anthony was on his way home from prom where he'd accompanied his young sister. This is just a glimpse into multiple incidents of racial discrimination at Waffle House. Something's very wrong there, and we must not support such a business. Join us. These 3 legislators are trying to interfere with the Mueller investigation. This would be disastrous for the country and the people of the United States. Their actions arouse suspicion that they have joined with Donald Trump to defy the will of the People and deprive us of knowing what happened in the 2016 election. A lot of evidence of a wide variety of irregularities and probably crimes have been covered up by these three legislators. These acts threaten the very fabric of our democracy and the investigation must be allowed to proceed until every rock has been turned over to discover who has done what and how our system of governance has been degraded and bought.

USA FH'S current system favors junior women over junior men and is not only discriminatory on the basis of gender but also represents economic discrimination by taking away from young men the dream of representing their country internationally and ultimately in the Olympics. Imposing training fees for young men only should be stopped.

In one of the busiest intersections in all of Virginia, on the corner of Prince St. and George Washington Pkwy., sits a monument "in memory of the confederate dead." Nowhere on the monument does mention that the confederate army enslaved free people, raped enslaved women, or were personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of loyal Americans. It does NOT say, "May we never forget the evil for which they stood." This monument to sickening monsters can apparently only be removed by an act of the state legislature. This needs to be a legislative priority and it needs to go now.
