Replace the Hate in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City SchoolsMy daughter has been the target of racially discriminatory, gender degrading, belief insulting harassment by the same student who has spewed hate speech at her twice in the past year. I will not allow it to happen for a third instance. My child and all children deserve to feel safe, supported, and equally important in school. We must demand accountability from our school system to ensure their policy is put into ACTION.71 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nicole Hitchcock

Eliminating the Statute of Limitations for bringing conviction for Rape or any Sexual Tresspass.Maine has reduced the time to bring conviction for sexual assault from 10 to 8 years. Sexual assault is committing trespass which is covered under due process in the Constitution. Statutes of Limitations serves to violate this civil right of due process.62 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Katrina Adams

Banning "Dumb & Dangerous" Meters in Washington StateTechnology should serve the people and not oppress the people. The more you study smart meters, the more you will NOT want them on your house or in your state. Hi Smart meters are being rolled out despite being a class 2b probable carcinogen, causing heart arrhythmia, head ache, other health problems and invasion of privacy. Private military organizations and utilities were awarded 3.4 billion to implement smart meters and smart grid against peoples wishes and behind the false premise of "green". We should be able to choose if we want our privacy invaded and if we want to expose ourselves to carcinogens. This invades our Constitutional rights to privacy, liberty and life. That's why I signed a petition to President Donald Trump, Governor jay Inslee, The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, The Washington State House, and The Washington State Senate, which says: “We the undersigned citizens of Washington State are very upset at the idea of having smart meters imposed upon us. We have researched this new technology and now understand that it is not healthy. Indeed, given their inaccuracies and health risks these meters are more accurately called “dumb dangerous” meters rather than "smart" meters. Smart meters/smart grid is an assault on the health of Americans and an invasion of our privacy. People should be informed about the risks of having a smart meter.People should not be charged a penny to retain their health and privacy. That is extortion and should be punishable be jail instead of funded by our government! Public Utility Commissions (PUCs) and legislators across the country need protect our constitutional right to heath, life and privacy! Corporations should not be able to profit at the expense of public health or by trampling on our Constitutional rights!"46 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bradford S. Weeks, M.D.

Mayor Bill de Blasio: Close Rikers IslandIt is unacceptable that society continues to turn a blind eye to the systemic racism that exists in the criminal justice system. While most of us don't have a daily/active role in the criminal justice system, we do have a say on funding spent on prisons. I suggest we measure every dollar we spend on prisons and jails against every dollar we spend on education and prevention.34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Victoria Phillipps

Fix Maryland's predatory toll road policies! As described in the Washington Post, thousands of Marylanders are suffering because of our state's predatory toll road policies. Maryland charges a $50 per trip late fee on a $1.50 to $6.00 video toll. These fines add up and have resulted in suspended vehicle registrations, bankruptcies and even homelessness. We are calling on Governor Larry Hogan to take immediate action to fix this broken system: 1) Reduce the video toll late fee amount - $50 per trip is too high! 2) Stop suspending vehicle registrations for unpaid late fees. People who are unable to pay will be even less able to pay if they cannot earn a living. 3) Stop garnishing income tax refunds to collect unpaid late fees.103 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Al Carr

Support #RedForEd Educators in ArizonaSince 2008, Arizona has cut almost $1 billion in education funding. Shortchanging Arizona’s children by nearly $1 billion has consequences: textbooks that are 25 years old, leaking roofs, class sizes as large as 40 students, outdated technology, and inadequate support staff to keep students safe and systems working. On April 26, tens of thousands of educators and other staff rallied at the state Capitol in Phoenix to demand that elected officials provide adequate funding for Arizona’s public schools. To restore those massive cuts and create a continuous revenue stream for funding public schools and educators’ salary hikes, the Arizona American Federation of Teachers recommends: • Support for the proposed ballot initiative that would allow voters to decide on increased revenue from high-income taxpayers. • Legislative rebalancing of the “three-legged stool” of state revenue—the income tax, property tax, and sales tax. • Closing tax loopholes and reviewing all tax giveaways to make sure the state is getting an adequate return on tax breaks and tax cuts. The additional revenue raised could be used to fix older school buildings and build new ones—and pay off the lawsuit that contends the state hasn’t provided the required money for school site maintenance; create curriculum that is aligned to the state standards, and provide classroom necessities ranging from modern technology to basic classroom supplies; provide 100 percent funding for all-day kindergarten and for pre-K programs; restore arts programs, alternative education programs for special education students and classes for gifted students; or, provide a salary increase for all school staff—teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, secretaries and others.12,763 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Arizona Federation of Teachers

Ethics Committee: Dismiss Scott Pruitt as EPA DirectorMr Pruitt has shown complete dismissal and arrogance in the job he has accepted in representing ALL of the citizens of our country, not just special interest factions. He is directly impacting my personal right, as well as EVERY PERSON IN THE USA who is concerned about their personal health and welfare. He has crossed 'the line in the sand'.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bernadette Preszler
