I have been an educator and worked with young people all of my life. There are no words to express my feelings about this slaughter.

There have been repeated incidents of shootings involving automated weapons. In some states like Florida, it is not only legal to buy and possess these weapons--but that also includes minors. It is time for both State and Federal Governments to put an immediate halt to all sales of automated weapons until a thorough and complete set of rules and regulations is established. These rules should include the banning of sale and ownership of any automated weapon - unless in connection with an appropriate security position or in the armed forces. The sale and ownership in any case of a minor should be prohibited. There should be a thorough system of vetting made mandatory for all points of gun sales. Any incidents of violence - or potential threat to violence - should be reported so that if found to be true, those who are considered either mentally unbalanced or a potential threat should be prohibited from the ownership of any gun - and those who are in contact with such individuals either at home or professionally and are licensed to carry any weapons should not be allowed to have any such weapons available in any form of access.

It's time to break the NRA's stranglehold on gun control issues and to make our elected representatives act to protect students and others.

Net Neutrality is under threat by corporate ISPs who have historically received huge tax breaks for services which they ended up not providing. It's time to take control of the 21st century's most valuable utility and bring high speeds at reasonable prices to CT residents.

America is the only country that allows the killing of innocent citizens by assault rifles. The time is now or never. We allowed 6-year-olds to be killed and did nothing. Lawmakers look out for their own pockets even when their own are attacked. "Time's Up"

Because even if gun control happens, we still need a better solution for kids' security, which is to increase the security at school.

To have teachers armed in the classroom to protect against active shooters. Also, have students who have been expelled evaluated mentally and intensely before being allowed back on campus. This will ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Enough is enough. This is about FREEDOM The freedom for kids to play in a playground and not get slaughtered. The freedom to go to a mall and not get slaughtered. The freedom to go to a political rally and not get slaughtered. The freedom to go to a movie and not get slaughtered. The freedom to go to a night club and not get slaughtered. The freedom to go to a concert and not get slaughtered. The freedom to go to a church and not get slaughtered. The freedom for kids to go to elementary school and not get slaughtered. And did you know that asshole shot those 20 kids a minimum of 3 times each in the face in under 5 minutes. AND NOW AGAIN the freedom for kids to go to high school and not get slaughtered. People kill people, that is indisputable. We will never stop a mad man from killing but the AR-15 and all the tactical armaments that have been unleashed on us by the NRA, the gun lobbyist and by their enablers in the State and Federal legislative bodies HAVE ENABLED THIS TYPE OF MADNESS TO KILL SO MANY IN SO LITTLE TIME! And there is no reason these weapons are available other than these boys want their toys for fake bravado. It has nothing to do with the second amendment or any real need or right. THE TIME FOR SILENCE IS OVER! I am a registered Republican who has been wondering what happened to the party since the mid-90s. I am not a liberal in any sense, I am more Center Right. I own 14 firearms but no handguns or AR-15s because I have always believed they pose a serious danger to society which has been bore out too many times to count and should not be in circulation. I am 62 years old and my heart cries for this country like never before.

Changes to NCRA’s position on contracting took place in 2016 without notice to membership. We request that NCRA continues its Government Relations support at the state level for anti-contracting legislation in keeping with its longstanding promotion of high ethical standards and its past statements on this subject: "NCRA believes that the focus should be on ethics, not money. Arizona, Arkansas, Nevada, and other states have the sovereign right and responsibility to make sure that court reporters are neutral and impartial, both in fact and appearance. The integrity of the judicial process and the confidence of the people under our rule of law require no less. "NCRA is constitutionally protected in its efforts to support state legislation that will preserve the integrity of the legal system by ensuring the neutral and impartial role of court reporters in the administration of justice as officers of the court and guardians of the record." If the board will not renew its efforts to support states in upholding the profession's integrity against contracting, the signators of this petition will enact our rights under the NCRA Constitution & Bylaws, Article IX, Section 5, and appeal such decision for a membership vote at the 2018 Annual Business Meeting.

We have to be able to pass common sense gunlaws. Citizens should not be able to purchase Automatic or semi automatic weapons. This however does not mean eliminating the Second Amendment, rather limiting the kind of weapons a regular citizen, prior background check, can purchase.

The shooter used an AR-15, a military-style assault weapon with large capacity magazines. This type of weapon was also used in previous mass shootings, including Aurora, Colorado; Newtown, Connecticut; San Bernardino, California; Umpqua Community College, Roseburg, Oregon; Sutherland Springs, Texas; and Las Vegas, Nevada. We do not want to hear our state and federal officials offering their thoughts and prayers for this latest tragedy – we want action now! Military-style assault weapons and large capacity magazines have no place in civilian society and are only designed to kill and injure large numbers of people in a short period of time. We cannot allow the daily carnage in our country to be the new normal. Tell the President, Congress and various state legislatures (including North Carolina) to act now to ban military-style assault weapons and large capacity magazines.

It is time for elected officials to stop taking money from the NRA and supporting their agenda instead of protecting our children.
