Dewey Bryant’s complaint about nuisance waterfowl at his business and subsequent abuse of power as a politician shows his lack of regard for the citizens he is supposed to represent. Dewey Bryant’s abuse of power is responsible for our city's rapid response to involve Texas Parks and Wildlife to deal with the overpopulation of waterfowl at the Memorial Gardens Park duck pond. As a result of this abuse of power, Texas Parks and Wildlife will be executing around 90 ducks and geese to control the population of waterfowl in the park. Donald Trump's hateful rhetoric and exclusionary policy proposals are divisive and dangerous. Despite professed disagreement with his abhorrent views and statements, two of American golf's leading bodies have continued doing business with him, and as such, they reward him materially and give him and his views undeserved legitimacy.

After years of behind-the-scenes negotiations, it's now up to Congress to decide whether or not we join the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a multinational trade treaty with disastrous implications for the American people. The TPP would devastate our economy. It would expand our trade deficit, drive down wages for American workers, and worsen income inequality. Under the TPP, big corporations would be incentivized to move our jobs overseas, leaving our working families struggling to make ends meet. The TPP threatens not only our economy, but also our health and safety. It would erode critical environmental and consumer protections, including our food safety standards, and would allow pharmaceutical companies to over-charge for life-saving medicines. The American people deserve better. We call on Congress to strengthen consumer protections, combat the threat of climate change, and create an economy that works for working families — and that means voting "No" on the TPP.

A basic, centuries-old tenet of our justice system is that ignorance of the law is no defense. But Corporate America's puppets in Congress are trying to sneak language into much-needed criminal justice reform legislation so that executives can get away with breaking the law. CEOs would be able to evade prosecution by claiming they didn't know what the law required of them. As if it's not obvious they shouldn’t sell defective products or rip people off. It's great that Congress, in a bipartisan push, is at last tackling ineffective and discriminatory law enforcement policies that have thrown vast numbers of people in prison for low-level, nonviolent drug offenses — at last taking steps to address the crisis of over-criminalization and over-incarceration. But corporate crime inflicts a horrific toll on our society. And there are far too FEW — not too many — corporate criminal prosecutions. Tell Congress: Reject any attempt to create an "ignorance of the law" defense that makes it harder to prosecute corporate crime.

Anyone can vote for who they like, but they need to be told the truth in order to make choices based on fact. We need a fair playing field to challenge these people. Since we have an election year, we have a local guy that will do anything to promote the Republican agenda. I have called many times to challenge him on things he says that or half truths or total lies. If anyone calls and says. for example, "Trump is scary or racist," he will spend at least 5 minutes trying to explain how that's not true. They have him on 3 times a day. There were a couple of last straws for me. The first" a woman called in and said she no longer watches the news, just him. He was pleased with that and encouraged it. The second time was when a woman called in and said that the president was Muslim and his daughters were adopted because Michelle was a transvestite. This woman honestly believed that(no joke). He shouldn't have even played the call but he did. This woman was serious and he said nothing to correct her. I think it is despicable to purposely mislead people so you can sway them to your agenda. This is not fair or balanced. It's propaganda.

There are rumors that the media will announce at 8 p.m. EDST (5 p.m. PDST) that Hillary Clinton has won sufficient delegates to clinch the nomination before the California primary is over. This call will be based on adding super-delegates to elected delegates. This will occur when California voters are still voting in a year when the California outcome is critical. The effect will be to discourage California voters from voting at that critical time. The results of the California primary could also affect who the super-delegates will support. This is in keeping with the media announcing Ronald Reagan won the 1980 election before polls closed in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones and the sudden declaration that George W. Bush had won the 2000 election. There was also a case where public furor caused one of the three corporate networks to avoid running a scene in a show that was to assert that President Clinton's White House passed up an opportunity to assassinate Osama bin Laden, something that did not happen. Media tampering with politics, unfortunately, happens and it could happen on June 7. The media, including PBS, have also over-covered Mr. Trump and ignored, disparaged, or said 'he can't win' about Senator Sanders, suggesting a strong media bias that is fundamentally incompatible with the proper and vital role of news sources in a democracy. The public needs to monitor what the media say to assure that all information needed by the public to make informed decisions is available without lies, spin and explicit or covert electioneering and that opinions are clearly identified as such.
