    President Obama made an offer to Republican John Boehner to cut Social Security benefits and leave in place some of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%. As the rich get rich the poor get poorer, and as the years pass a cuts will increase thereafter. Retirees will loose benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities. We need to protect every citizens' health and prosperity. We need to urge the Senate to reject this proposal and protect Social Security. As a SignOn.org member in Massachusetts, we all can make a difference by launching a petition to Senator John Kerry and Majority Leader Reid.

    Social Security Cuts and chained CPI will reduce benefits and income to seniors. This will severely hurt me over the years, plus many folks on social security living merely on this income and those on disability. Please increase the cost of living for seniors instead of decreasing it, as it is almost impossible to keep up with the cost of living and food prices and utilities as it is now. Thanks.

    The fiscal cliff is real. We must stop class warfare. I am willing to have reduced SS benefits, even though they are already small. Simplification of the tax system is a must. We must stop class warfare. And enormous resources are wasted on record-keeping, filling in forms, and calculating taxes -- that is, on lawyers, accountants, and other tax preparers and computer programs.
