• Tell U.S. pharmacies: Provide abortion care to your customers!
We must remember that the majority of voters support safe and legal abortion access. Voters in states such as Kansas, Kentucky and Montana overwhelmingly supported abortion rights in ballot measures last year. We cannot let misogynistic Republicans in the pockets of anti-abortion extremists overturn the will of the people! It's bad enough that the conservatively-stacked Supreme Court stripped us of our constitutional right to abortion. Now, Republicans are going after a safe, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved medication for early pregnancy abortion that's used in more than half of all abortions in the United States. Abortion pills such as mifepristone have been FDA-approved and safely used by customers for over 20 years. Last month, the Biden administration approved retail pharmacies such as Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS to dispense the pills as part of a larger plan to protect abortion access and reduce maternal mortality. Threats from Republican attorneys general to keep these pharmacies from dispensing the pills have chilling effects on multiple fronts. Not only are they putting customers' lives at risk, but they are also controlling private businesses, customers' lives, and our democracy. U.S. pharmacies must not give in to GOP bullying and fascism and to protect their customers' right to abortion care!

  • Stop Florida's high school menstrual period reporting rule
The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) is about to vote on an outrageous proposal to require all female high school athletes to report detailed information about their menstrual periods to their school administrators in order to play. Florida is home to an abortion ban and a law against transgender athletes playing on public school teams. Forcing girls to share detailed menstrual information puts them in danger, full stop. Four members of the FHSAA are appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis and his education commissioner, and just two of 16 members are women. We're calling on them to reject the mandatory period reporting rule for high school athletes.

  • Tell FIFA: Recognize the Afghan women’s national soccer team
The fight for women's rights in Afghanistan is a long and ongoing battle that has taken a huge step backwards with recent Taliban control. Despite immense danger and sacrifice, the Afghan women's soccer team is working to prove progress is possible. By breaking down cultural barriers and taking the field, they are not only challenging societal norms, but they are also providing a source of hope and inspiration. The problem? FIFA, the governing body of international soccer, refuses to recognize the team. This failure means the women cannot represent their country, compete in professional matches, or receive the funding they need to pay players and staff. But that can change. After months of player protests and widespread criticism over its human rights abuses in Doha, FIFA is eager to rehabilitate its image. And with the Women's World Cup taking place in Australia and New Zealand this July, FIFA will once again be center stage — and sensitive to public pressure and protest.  Right now, FIFA’s PR machine is closely watching and listening. That means we have a crucial opportunity to call on them to use their power for good. Can you join us to support women’s rights and diplomacy by signing our petition to FIFA President Gianni Infantino?

  • No to a National Abortion Ban!
Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, right-wing Republican laws have taken effect in state after state to ban abortion and criminalize those who seek and provide it. These harsh laws take away a fundamental right that had been guaranteed by the Constitution for nearly 50 years and fulfill an extremist vision of exerting control over our health, our bodies, and our autonomy. As a result, pregnant people—many of whom already faced challenges accessing the abortion care that should have been their right—are forced to travel long distances to seek care, or to carry to term pregnancies that could be harmful or fatal. And we see these same Republicans seeking to jail and punish people in cruel and outrageous ways. The Republican Party is now bringing these attacks to Congress, where their majority in the House of Representatives wasted no time in passing two anti-abortion bills. We know they won't stop there: They'll go after the right to contraception, limit access to self-managed abortion, and seek a full national abortion ban. We need to stop them at all costs. Democrats in the Senate and President Biden need to take every measure to defeat these bills. More than that, they need to continue the fight to codify the protections of Roe into law—and do away with the regressive filibuster, if necessary, to pass such a bill in the Senate. And as the House continues to vote on these bills, we need every member of Congress to hear from their constituents, to know that a vast, bipartisan majority of Americans support abortion rights, and that they will be held accountable for voting for any measure that seeks to limit those rights, including a national abortion ban.

  • Don’t Silence Doctors from Speaking Out on Patients’ Suffering as a Result of Abortion Bans
The net effect of such practices is to make medical staff fear for their jobs and careers and intimidate them into silence, so as to hide the tremendous suffering, health damage, and heartbreak that abortion bans are inflicting on people. The CNN report describes the many ways hospitals and university medical centers use to silence doctors and medical staff and downplay the suffering caused by abortion bans. Some hospitals block or hinder media requests to interview their doctors and researchers on the topic. Others police social media posts about abortion—a university medical center’s lawyer insisted a group of residents in obstetrics and gynecology take down their Instagram post that said, “Abortion is healthcare,” even though many medical professional groups such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists have used the exact same phrase. Even when hospitals have allowed their doctors to speak publicly, these employers insist that the physicians do not disclose where they work and make clear they would prefer that the doctors not speak at all. Will you support doctors speaking up for reproductive health and justice by signing the petition now?
