• Allow Injured workers to Reopen workers Compensation Claims
Injuries received on the job may cause health problems later on in life. Workers who find that previous injuries prevent them from obtaining employment, or giving rise to new health damages should be able to re-open their claims to receive their proper compensation. This will encourage insurance companies to insist on discovering/ disclosing all health outcomes to workers.

  • preOccupied Mommas: Knit for #OccupyWallStreet
Please pledge to knit a hat to help keep folks at Occupy Wall Street warm this winter. As the mother of a child, I've been preoccupied lately with education, with health care, with housing. I want to provide for my child and I want everyone's kid to have access to these things, but I'm watching as everything gets more and more expensive for 99% of the people living in this country. In support of the folks standing up for a better future for all of our children we pledge to knit a hat to keep them warm this winter. http://www.facebook.com/pages/PreOccupied-Mommas/285498261471044?skip_nax_wizard=true

  • Abolish Corporate Personhood
The doctrine of corporate personhood that has been enacted and supported by the Supreme Court, most recently through their ruling in the Citizens United case, has allowed small groups of people (i.e. corporate boards of directors, CEOs, etc) with access to large amounts of cash to have an outsized influence on our governmental policies. This influence was a direct cause of the Financial Crisis of 2007-8, and time and again has brought this country and the world ever closer to true economic, ecological and social catastrophe.

  • Save Cooper Union Without Tuition
Since 2011, the severity of Cooper Union’s financial crisis has catalyzed an enormous response from its community of faculty, students, alumni and staff. Together we’re determined not only to preserve, but to better, Cooper’s foundational mission of free education. We’ve channeled our collective energies into an open, yearlong brainstorming process focused on preserving a tuition-free Cooper Union. Our results, published in the community-authored report The Way Forward, are based on three straightforward principles: 1. Our mission is not fungible; 2. Our best shot—and it’s a good one—is to tackle spending and live within our means; and 3. in our fight, as in our school, we are united. Please sign below in support of Cooper Union's historic mission and visit these links for more information: http://friendsofcooperunion.org http://cusos.org http://www.facebook.com/groups/SaveCooperUnion

  • Hawaiian Air price fixing is prejudiced against local people
Inter-island travel is essential for keeping Hawaii families connected. Hawaiian Air doubled the price of inter-island tickets since Aloha Airlines and the ferry was forced out of business. There are no longer discounted kama'aina, senior, or youth rates, and no more coupon books for frequent travelers, so it is prohibitive for people to visit their children, grandchildren and family. We are calling on our government to take action.
